Charge On Training Center provides instructor development for individuals who want to teach CPR, AED, First Aid, and BLS courses. Begin with the AHA BLS Instructor pathway and explore additional instructor opportunities for qualified candidates.
AHA BLS Instructor Training
Become qualified to teach American Heart Association BLS and Heartsaver courses. The process includes online learning, hands-on instructor training, and monitored teaching.
American Red Cross Instructor Bridge
Current instructors from approved training organizations may qualify for an online bridge course to pursue American Red Cross instructor certification. Eligibility is determined by the American Red Cross.

Before enrollment, Charge On Training Center will provide each candidate with a complete list of requirements, current fees, and instructions for purchasing the correct materials.
Your Path to Becoming an AHA BLS Instructor
Becoming an AHA BLS Instructor involves online preparation, hands-on instructor training, and monitored teaching. Charge On Training Center guides qualified candidates through each required step.
1.
Confirm Your Eligibility
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and hold a current AHA BLS Provider eCard.
2.
Complete Instructor Essentials
Complete the required online BLS Instructor Essentials course before attending the instructor course.

Complete Monitored Teaching
Demonstrate your ability to teach and evaluate students during a monitored course.
3.
Attend the Instructor Course
Learn AHA teaching methods, course administration, skills evaluation, remediation, and instructor responsibilities.
5.
Receive Your Instructor Credential
After completing all requirements, receive your AHA BLS Instructor eCard and complete your Training Center alignment.
What You’ll Be Qualified to Teach
As an AHA BLS Instructor, you may teach both BLS and eligible Heartsaver courses through an authorized Training Center.
BLS Training
Teach AHA BLS Provider courses, BLS renewal courses, and hands-on skills sessions for HeartCode BLS.
Heartsaver Training
Teach eligible AHA Heartsaver courses for workplaces, schools, community groups, and individuals.
Heartsaver CPR AED
Heartsaver First Aid
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED

Becoming an AHA Instructor gives you the flexibility to provide lifesaving training within your organization, for community groups, or as part of your own training services.

After becoming an AHA BLS Instructor, you may choose to pursue additional instructor credentials through other recognized organizations.
STOP THE BLEED® Instructor Pathway
Individuals who meet American College of Surgeons eligibility requirements may apply to become STOP THE BLEED® instructors. This is a separate credentialing pathway and is not automatically included with AHA BLS Instructor certification.
Interested in the Red Cross Bridge?
Qualified AHA instructors may also be eligible to pursue American Red Cross instructor certification through its online bridge process. Eligibility and approval are determined by the American Red Cross.
Additional instructor credentials require separate applications and may involve independent eligibility requirements, training, approval, or fees.
Instructor Training Investment
Charge On BLS Instructor Course: $300
The $300 fee covers the hands-on instructor course provided by Charge On Training Center.
Instructor candidates are also responsible for the following separate requirements and fees:
Current AHA BLS Provider certification: $109.00
AHA BLS Instructor Essentials online course: $43.90
Required instructor materials: Starting at $106.50
Course-monitoring fee: $50.00
These additional costs are not included in the $300 instructor-course fee. Candidates who already hold a current AHA BLS Provider eCard will not need to repeat the provider course.
